CUSHMAN, Ore. — Travelers heading to Florence Sunday afternoon had to wait a few hours to get through a flooded portion of Highway 126.
Florence resident Neil Karp says the closure on Highway 126 Sunday afternoon wasn’t the first road closure he had to deal with this weekend.
Saturday the Highway 101 closure delayed his trip, causing him to stay the night in Yachats. Sunday, just four miles to go until he was back to Florence, his trip was delayed again.
He’s been on the road since 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
“And now another road closed and all I want to do is get back to Florence where I live,” said Karp.
ODOT says this kind of flooding happens during high tide and the road was only closed for a few hours.
